A colleague of mine recommended Acacia as she had completed her Level 5 HR course. I looked at a number of providers but decided that having the flexibility to study both evenings & weekends and complete my course done at a pace that suited me.
I loved how collaborative the course was. Being able to network with like-minded L&D professionals and learn how other companies in different sectors approach L&D tasks.
I think the move to make feedback online for each of the courses was wise. Perhaps, students could receive a confermation email to say that everything has been sent to the CIPD for approval.
Margaret Heath was brilliant. She really used the room of learners to draw on experience and open meaningful discussions which helped to deliver an even deeper level of learning.
My favourite module was facilitating collective and social learning.
When I’ve been creating new material/courses etc. I’ve been doing more focus groups.
Yes! Although I’m hoping that a full L&D Level 7 course will become available instead of the HRD level 7 course currently available.
Since completing the Level 5 L&D course, I have secured myself a new role as L&D Manager at Kurt Geiger (due to start in March). I feel that without this course, I wouldn’t have the confidence to drive forward for such a role. I’m excited to get stuck in and hopefully see my career grow eventually to be a director of L&D all going well!
My line manager see’s the direct benefits of the CIPD course having completed the HR course herself. The wider company is questionable hence forming part of my decision to move on.
